Range Hood
MPH and I went shopping yesterday. Another reason my perfect husband is so perfect, he likes shopping almost as much as me. Not that I do it that much, but he goes with me - doesn't matter what we're shopping for. He doesn't generally complain about expensive stuff - but he's a bargain shopper if you've ever seen one - he can talk anybody down on anything - AND - the best part here AND the man can RETURN ANYTHING - ANYTHING! I've seen him return a used automatic cat box - no box, no receipt. It probably doesn't hurt that he has the build of a football player and dresses a little like a biker-type, but he's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. A true gentleman too. He's never rough with anybody, never raises his voice, he's just very very convincing. I don't think he's ever met a store manager that he couldn't convince of a return or exchange. I'm wanting a new range hood for the kitchen. It may be that I just want to spend money - but for some reason I've got a fixation that I need a new range hood for the kitchen. I also want a better bathroom fan for our bathroom - our bedroom window freezes up in the winter and gets crusted up with ice because of too much condensation in the room (hmm - could we be steaming it up in there too much? I don't think so.) I'm hoping that a better bathroom fan could help get the steam out from the room. We both take a shower every morning. It would be nice to try a bathroom fan that moves more air quieter and see if that helps keep the window from freezing up. We've both been watching that infomercial for the Ionic Breeze air cleaner, not at the same time, but we've both seen that thing. We've talked about getting one for a while, but those are so expensive, and we haven't met anyone who has one to find out if they really work. Radioshack has a similar air cleaner for about $150 less. So we bought one of those yesterday. It's not silent but it is very quiet. We're going to see how it works. The reason I want a range hood is the one we have now is not vented to outside. So a lot of cooking smells are trapped in the house. MPH has been doing that low carb diet so there's a lot of sausage and bacon frying smells in the house. I was hoping for a vented range hood - but if nothing else a non-vented one that helps filter out the smells would help. I was trying to tell that to MPH when he mentioned getting the air cleaner again. Maybe we'll go for a drive today. I need to go see my dad - haven't been out there in a while. The weather has been absolutely perfect. Not too warm, not too cold, no wind, and best of all no bugs. We took the dogs to the dog park yesterday. Mac is doing so much better without having to use the training collar. MPH and I got that training collar almost a year ago - and we were too chicken to use it on him for the longest time. Then he took off after one of our neighbors. I'm lucky that the guy didn't press charges or something. Mac didn't bite him or anything - but he did do a run full charge at him. I think it gave the guy a scare. It came down to that we had to get Mac under voice command. If he'd done that to the wrong person, he could have ended up incarcerated for it, or put down. It might seem cruel to use a training collar, but really it comes down to being for their own good usually. Mac is almost under total voice control now. MPH is very happy with it. It only took a couple of zaps. The zaps are like a static shock I guess - maybe a little more than that. Before the zap is done - the collar beeps - that warns the dog that a zap may be coming. Now all we have to do is give a warning beep and it works. Mac becomes completely obedient. Mac used to get completely bent out of shape when he saw another dog. In the back of our vehicles - he'd have the whole truck swaying with his jumping around and whining. He really doesn't like frou frou types of dogs like white Samoyeds, there was a couple of them that used to live down the street. With a warning beep he chills out - he almost doesn't do anything anymore. I think he figured out that he can enjoy other dogs without getting all bent out of shape. We'll see how things go today.
