Finally, promotions!

Today my supervisor called me and said it's official. We're finally really getting our upgrades. It's supposed to become effective on Sunday. I guess it'll be about $200-300 more a month. I haven't actually figured it all out. It's been a long drawn out process but I guess it's for real this time. I told her she's off the hook now. That sounds a little strange doesn't it.

I have a pretty good supervisor, she doesn't really understand the work that me or my coworkers do - but then she doesn't have to I guess. I finally figured out that it all washes out in the end. In the 2 years that we've been working with her - she's gaining ground - and she keeps her commitments. She's upbeat and perky and enthusiastic and consistent. I guess I'm pretty lucky.

GeeGee tried to arrange a lunch with our mutual friend Skinni. Skinni consistently stands us up for lunches or won't commit. I guess I would rather that she didn't commit then being stood up. Or she cancels at the last minute. Well Geegee sent an email to have lunch tomorrow, but Skinni said she has inventories all week and couldn't commit. Just after getting the good news from my boss, I decided at lunch to run over to Best Buy and indulge myself in a new sync cradle for my Clie. Guess who I run into - oh yeah - can't get away from inventories all week for lunch. Oh BS.

One of these days I'm going to set her down and let her know how I feel about it. She's always blowing us off - or cancelling. I guess I'm one to talk - there was one time where I was extremely busy months, maybe even a year ago working on a spreadsheet or matrix of our upgrade questions actually, and I forgot about having lunch with Skinny and left her sitting in the restaurant all by herself. Oh well - she had it coming.

I don't think any of us should bother with planning lunches anyhow - we should just agree to meet after work somewhere. Lunches are really never enough time to talk, before we have to rush off back to work.

Yesterday I emailed my itinerary over to my sister so that she could make her arrangements. She then emailed me that she upgraded her tickets to 1st class - and sent me the instructions to request the same sitting next to her using miles to do it. I called and the airlines couldn't find her reservations, and they put me in the seat that she said that she had reserved. Confusing. She was about to call them and tell them that we wanted to be seated together, but not like that. Turns out that she booked her tickets for the same flight but a day ahead of mine. I wonder if one of us is going to have a $50 change fee now. And the fun begins.

I've been looking for a picture or some artwork to put on my diary template - but haven't found anything yet. Sooner or later somethings bound to come up.

I bought MPH a present today. Noise-cancelling Aiwa headphones. Next I want to get him an Ipod to go with. He travels so much he really needs a good mp3 player and headphones. I think he liked his headphones, but we'll see if he wants to return them after a while.

Well I'm going over to Geegee's moms to drink wine and gossip soon - hopefully Geegee will be there too. I need to take her Sitka Rose over there or plant it or something, it might not make it through the winter if I don't do something soon.
