Be the boss | Prev : Oct. 01, 2003 : 5:24 p.m. Next |
You know you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family or your coworkers . . . well unless you adopt or are the boss anyhow.Today we had an afternoon 'training' in a lecture format, but there were about 4-5 out of 30 of us that knew more about the subject matter than the 'instructor', maybe that's the case in most situations anyhow, I don't know. It was pathetic. For those of us who know how to download into Excel or Access and work it - it was frustrating to have to try to talk the instructor through putting in her password "no it doesn't have to be in caps - it's not cap sensitive. TAB!! TAB!! TAB!! STOP!! TOO FAR!! SHIFT TAB!! NO! SHIFT! TAB!" Then she's all the way out and is trying to re-enter the program. ARGH! (what time is it - ohmigod 3 more hours of this). Luckily it's likely that nobody in the room is savy enough on the computer to find this journal. Tomorrow we have a full day of this. Then on Friday we have a morning full of delightful headbashing by admin people on us. MPH is off on his job adventures again. He's traveling to a remote exotic island. It's not what you think the definition of exotic is \Ex*ot"ic\, n. Anything of foreign origin; something not of native growth, as a plant, a word, a custom. There are people that spends hundreds or even thousands of dollars to see these islands that he travels to - mostly audobon society fanatics. He travels there to maintain navigation and communication equipment mostly. I love my husband. I look back to the 2 previous significant relationships in my life and all though I loved those guys also, it isn't the same this time. There were a lot of things missing in my lives with them. It's definitely different when you have a partner that is really with you. MPH really is my best friend, probably of my whole life. There are times when I like to do things separately but it only makes getting together even better. With the 2 previous my life was like a roller coaster with ups and downs, with MPH it's like a luxury cruise. I'm sure that being financially comfortable helps, we're not well off, but we can have almost anything we really want or need. Well I told Geegee that I'd meet her at the gym at 6:00 - we're boycotting Kathy's water aerobic class - she's too killer on the arms part of the aerobics. I'm planning on going to Chrissy's class tomorrow - she's easier.
