I thought I would drop a short entry in.I was up north for a couple days for meetings. The first meeting was our 'team' meeting. My 5 peers and myself and our supervisor had a meeting. We had the message that the meeting started at 8:00. I would have been perfectly happy to get to the office at 7:00 but my coworkers that traveled with me didn't want to get to the office a minute sooner than they absolutely had to. The hotel was just minutes from the office - so it was agreed that we would meet in the lobby at 1/4 til 8. Turns out that a message went out after we left town that the meetings started at 7:30. At 7:35 our supervisor called me in the hotel room - asking where I was - and why wasn't I there, it started at 7:30. As if I was intentionally being late. It pissed me off - I have never intentionally done anything wrong timewise. I have always been more than above board about my time at work. I hate my coworkers lack of punctuality. I was stuck riding with them. Someday I think I'll just drive my own vehicle up there instead of flying or relying on them. The second day of meetings was with the whole unit. I sat next to one of my favorite people. She's got a smutty mouth and she is soooo funny. She kept up a continuing profane commentary the whole meeting. The funniest part was when we saw that one of the guys from our building down south had also come up north for the office Christmas Luncheon to spend time with the new golden girl/slut. The moment she saw them as we're walking down the hallway she turned to me and whispered 'and here they are, the f***er and the f***ee'. The reason she said that is that a few months ago, the f***ee was bragging up the f***er's stamina and rebounding ability, and the word got around (with my assistance). I'm a rotten person sometimes, but I don't care. Tonight there's a union Christmas party - I haven't been to a 'work' Christmas party in years. Well not one where alcohol was served. I can't wait.
