. . . in just a few days it'll be over . . . | Prev : Apr. 21, 2005 : 9:24 p.m. Next |
Lots going on all the time. The coworker who was teetering on the edge of being fired, is resigning tomorrow - I've heard. She ticked me off earlier this week, so I haven't been speaking to her. I was probably her last thread of tolerance in the office and she made me mad. My aunt passed away last weekend, and my cousin was her only child. So I spent a part of Mon & Tues taking time off of work and running my cousin around to make arrangements. The coworker has the nerve to question me if that was necessary - and she didn't even bother coming in last week, and didn't appologize for it either. CG1 is on an overbearing rant right now also - barking out orders for the funeral. CG4 is even a little pissed about it. I don't know whether to bite back or just bite my tongue. So far I've just been running interference so that CG1 doesn't bite off my cousins head. My cousin is indecisive and stubborn and quiet. CG1 would railroad her in a minute. In just a few days it'll be over . . . in just a few days it'll be over . . . Other crap at work is driving me nuts. I'm somewhat of a specialist in my type of work, I'm a level or two above clerical work - but not management. I also work with a bunch of technicians, and engineering types. One of the engineering types took one of my ideas that was actually very logical and would work - and has totally trashed it. MPH is away again. He's in a 4 week class this time. When he comes back he leaves again for a one week class in Cleveland. About 6 weeks ago my dad fell on the ice in his front yard and dislocated his shoulder. Of course when it happened he refused medical attention until somebody called CG1 and her husband out to check on him. They took him to a doc in the box, who told him he should go to the ER. I ended up taking him to the ER about 24 hours after it happened. In the exam room the doctor just walked in and tried to immediately pop it back into place. I cringed and plugged my ears. The exam room was the size of a shoe box - and the doctor blocked my exit. The doctor finally decided that Daddy was going to need a brief anesthesia dose so that he could work it in - I thought I was going to need one also. I ended up calling CG4 in to sit with Daddy because I just couldn't handle it, and here I'm the one who is glued to "Trauma, Life in the ER" every chance I get. CG4 a couple of months ago asked her SO to move out. They went to counseling and now they're engaged. Did you know that proper etiquette is to congratulate the groom and give best wishes to the bride? It's apparently poor etiquette to tell the bride congratulations. I guess that makes sense. Life is good to me so far. I've got to learn to chill out somewhat though.
